Tomorrow we are crossing the border to Malawi, so we're reflecting on our 2 weeks in Mozambique. There are so many memories, but here are some of the highlights:
The white sand and the turquoise Indian Ocean on the Coconut Coast.
The freshly speared Barracuda and Kingfish given to us by Heins, a S African neighbour on the campsite.
The roadside locals selling mango, pineapple, banana, tomato, cashew nuts, charcoal, cooking oil, chairs, home brew, live chickens and even a white rabbit!
A days boat trip to Paradise Island (Santa Carolina) in the Bazaruto Archipelago.
Getting to grips with the 4x4 in sand and avoiding the pothole craters on some parts of the road.
The 200 mile journey from Chimoio to Tete, through beautiful fertile countryside, with traditional villages all along the route against the mountainous background
The welcome and friendliness of the Mozambiqan people.

Welcome to our Africa blog
We hope all our families and friends will log in from time to time to see how we're getting on - and just to touch base. We all know we shall miss everyone and this is one of the ways we hope to keep in touch. And, of course, we shall be logging on to Skype and emailing whenever we get the chance. This is a massive adventure for us all with a shed load of planning , but once you've fallen for Africa you just have to see more. So here we go!
